Father's Day - Tony & Elliot
Beer Hawk beers and a handmade card!

On Tony’s 3rd Father’s Day, Elliot bought (yeah, yeah, we know – ‘bought’!) Daddy some well-deserved beers from Beer Hawk, which specialises in mixed cases of craft beers and ales from around the world.

Tony is pretty much a stay-at-home Dad – we’re not keen on the term, but it is what it is.  Alongside his business, and with me at work full time, Tony has been Elliot’s main ‘carer’ since about 6 months old, so it’s very important to us to acknowledge Father’s Day (and we acknowledge most events with alcohol!!).

So much in the community for infants and toddlers is geared towards Mums and all to often stay-at-home Dads are made to feel like a ‘novelty’ rather than a parent, so when a Dad steps up to be the primary parent it can be rather daunting… I’ll jump off my soap box before I get started 😉

Crayola Washable Paint

A handmade card is a must, of course, and Elliot happily took up the paintbrush to splodge his latest creation! We like Crayola washable paints, which are available from Amazon if you can’t find them locally.

While the beers from Beer Hawk may not be as cheap as your local supermarket or off licences for similar brands, it’s a great way to gift beer if you’ve no idea what you want, and especially if you need to send it direct to the recipient.

Luckily, Tony likes to try the weird and wonderful beers as well as the traditional, so the ‘Crafty Dad’ mixed case was the perfect choice – we’ll see how many of them he truly likes as the week unfolds, because let’s face it, they’re not going to last long!

(And I bought my Dad the Gluten-Free mixed case.)
