For a few weeks now I’ve been having a great time hosting live cocktail sessions for the Facebook cruise fans group P&O Cruises – UK Fan Page…
It all came about after fellow Admin, Jamie, hosted a successful quiz league in the group – when that came to an end, and with more and more cruises being cancelled, we were keen to stay connected with our group’s members (over 8,500 at the last count!) and keep bringing the fun and positivity that we love about our group.
Over 7 weeks we’ve had all sorts of themes with many cocktails inspired by the P&O Cruises bar menu!
We’ve had Prosecco and Negronis, Bourbon (with a tribute to my Dad and his favourite tipple, Canadian Club), Rum (the most popular one yet!), Mudslides and dessert cocktails, and Tequila (for Tony’s birthday)… and for this weekend I’m planning a bigger, colourful menu for Pride Month 🌈
I love preparing menus and sharing what I’m learning – I’m not a trained bartender or mixologist, so everything I do is from my own research and dabbling.
The feedback has been brilliant and I wanted to do more than just once a week, but I couldn’t drown the cruise group with my cocktails posts, so Cocktails with Lisa was born!
I have always shared classic cocktails to French 75 – the vintage-style blog I share with my best friend, but I’d never done live sessions before, so for the VE Day 75th Anniversary (and for a bit of practice before going live to 8000 people!), I shared the making of one of our favourites – the Aviation.
And it’s not just cocktails!
A special request from my team of Arbonne Independent Consultants for some healthy drinks got my head spinning! But I was able to share four delicious non-alcoholic mocktails – an Apple Fauxjito, a Cucumber Collins, a Strawberry Rum-less Daiquiri and a Grapefruit & Ginger Spritz:
If you love cruising and cocktails, please do join us over on P&O Cruises – UK Fan Page or, if you like to sail with other lines, our sister group Let’s Cruise – UK Fan Page.
And if cruises aren’t your thing, then please follow my cocktail making here or on Facebook – Cocktails with Lisa.
Cheers!
